"Devicepro is now running on every client and we have achieved our goal that only authorized users have access to external devices and then only to equipment that we have explicitly approved," comments Patrick Stift. "LKA employees can now connect their authorized mobile devices to any of our PCs nationwide - and we still have the highest security." Another feature Patrick likes is the way devicepro deals with exceptions. It frequently happens that an external device is incorrectly recognized by the operating system, for example, a PDA being listed as a hard drive, or duplicate serial numbers are awarded and prevent automatic identification. "As devicepro administrator, I can correct these faulty listings and even define my own device type categories," said Patrick Stift.
